Energy Performance Certificates (Commercial buildings)
Prior to any selling or marketing of a commercial property you will need to have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) to show prospective buyers. The EPC shows the energy efficiency of the building (Asset Rating) and comes with recommendations on how the building’s energy efficiency can be improved.
Display Energy Certificates (Public buildings)
Display Energy Certificates (Public buildings) Public buildings over 500m2 are required to have on public display a Display Energy Certificate (DEC) which shows the energy rating of the building by taking into account energy consumption, building occupancy and its fabric (Operational Rating). The report also comes with recommendations for improving the energy efficiency of the building. DECs are renewable annually for buildings over 1000m2.
Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS)
Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) ESOS is a mandatory energy assessment and energy saving identification scheme for large undertakings (A large undertaking is a company with 250 or more employees OR an annual turnover exceeding €50m and a balance sheet exceeding €43m). The scheme applies throughout the UK and is the UK government’s response to Article 8 of the Energy Efficiency Directive – 2012/27/EU. Precedent Surveyors have Lead Assessors who can project manage your company’s ESOS Assessment and achieve compliance and avoid costly fines.
